Heimbuch, John

John Heimbuch is a writer, director, actor, and Artistic Director of Walking Shadow Theatre Company in Minneapolis. His original plays include Mae West and the Trial of Sex, William Shakespeare’s Land of the Dead, S. Gunter Klaus and the Story Before, The Transdimensional Couriers Union, Squawk, 10-Speed Revolution, The Lives of the Most Notorious Highwaymen, and A Midwinter Night’s Revel. His literary adaptations include The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, Or the White Whale, and Drakul. His plays have be published by Samuel French / Concord Theatricals and produced all over the world. As a director, he has recently been prioritizing short films and immersive work, including Walking Shadow’s plays with puzzles: Cabal, Reboot, and Zerolands. As an actor, he has been touring Charlie Bethel’s solo adaptations of Beowulf and Gilgamesh around the United States since 2019. He can be found online at walkingshadow.org and johnheimbuch.com.
