Jensen, Mark

Mark Jensen is a playwright, lyricist, and a soon-to-be published novelist. His original musical, RUNESTONE! A ROCK MUSICAL, was produced by the History Theatre (St. Paul, MN) in 2022. Mark wrote the book and lyrics. TouchPoint Press is publishing MY BROTHER IS A CYBORG FROM SATURN, the first novel in his YA SF trilogy. Mark’s other plays and musicals include YOUNG LINDY, HISTORY DETECTIVES: LANDMARK CENTER, TOM SAWYER (Steppingstone Theatre for Youth Development), ATOMIC SUMMER (Theatre in the Square), THE BENEVOLENT WOMEN’S CRAFT SOCIETY (Rochester Repertory Theatre), WELDINGS (Prairie Wind Players), and HOFFMAN: JOURNEY THROUGH TIME (Lake Region Arts Council). He is the co-author of the non-fiction books HR PIONEERS and SCRIPTING OUR LIVES. North Star Press of St Cloud published HR PIONEERS, a history book about Control Data Corporation. The book examines the company’s history of addressing society’s unmet needs as business opportunities. SCRIPTING OUR LIVES is a handbook for developing oral history theatre. Mark is a former Core Writer and now Affiliated Writer of the Playwrights Center of Minneapolis. He received his BA in Theatre Arts/English Writing from Concordia College (Moorhead, MN) and his MFA in Playwriting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Mark was a creative writer at Accolade Software, where he wrote the fiction and directed the voice acting for the sci-fi computer game DEADLOCK: PLANETARY CONQUEST. Mark currently is a multimedia course designer and technical writer at Epicor Software.
