Mariénne Kreitlow: Lyricist, Composer, Poet, Performance Artist, Playwright After years of performing and recording as a singer-songwriter, I discovered my next true love. Creating musical theatre sparks my heart! I am moved by shifting realities of time and space, memories layered within the present, losing oneself to find oneself, and valuing the quirkiness and differentness of others. I frequently workshop evolving shows at The New Musical Theatre Exchange, where I am inspired by new works from a pool of talented writers and composers. Credits include book, lyrics and score for Earl Tracy, Trouble in Grimmland, “Yours, Thrognog,” (co-written with Kitty Karn,) Excelsius, and my latest, Tesla’s Mistress, about the inventor Nikola Tesla. I believe art can foster self-empowerment and expansion of the human heart while being thoroughly entertaining: juxtaposition = confusion = recalibration = delight = new reality I am one of the founders of the Minnesota Garlic Festival and belong to the Sustainable Farming Association of Minnesota. My works often reflect a strong sense of place and commitment to honoring the land.
