Megarry, Kitty

Kitty Megarry has acted and performed at venues throughout the Twin Cities. After completing a B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, she worked in Minneapolis theater professionally in ticketing, house managing and lighting, as well as doing voice-overs for KSTP and KTCA television. Her press releases and theater reviews were published by area newspapers, and she is co-author of the fantasy board game, Pentantastar (Adventure Games, Inc.). She performed with the Nokomis Jazz Workshop and the Minnesota Association of Songwriters, and took new songs to open stages in town. An ASCAP member, her song, “Nothing For Me Here” was played on KQRS, “O Them Cats” was a winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and aired on WDGY for Halloween 2024. Kitty worked as an aircraft mechanic at Northwest Airlines until a disabling on-the-job injury forced her to stop all work, including music, art and writing. Today, she feels fortunate to serve as a reading tutor for students with dyslexia and to be well enough to pursue art again, completing her musical, Mouse of the North. She lives in St. Paul.
